Hold-down pipe clamps are used in applications where you would like to either 1.) anchor the pipe in position or 2.) permit axial movement of the pipe. Slide plates, such as PTFE, 25% glass filled or graphite, can be incorporated into the design to reduce the friction between the pipe and clamp.

APPLICATIONS: Fig. HD-1 is an anchor type hold down. This hold down is generally used on pipe lines where little or no insulation is required.

APPLICATIONS: Fig. HD-2 is a restraint type hold down. The clamp radius as well as the base is lined with PTFE, 25% glass filled, slide plate, allowing axial movement while restraining lateral movement. It is generally used on compressor lines where temperature is high and thermal movement is great.

APPLICATIONS: Fig. HD-3 is an arrestor type hold down. This hold down is actually a restraint that is used when there is very low thermal movement. Its radius is lined with a belting material that is well designed to absorb shock from vibration. This type is generally used on compressor lines or similar application.

NOTE: Belting material remains impervious to heat up to 200°F.
